The problem
The union kept a WordPress site that no longer kept up with the organization's communication: hard to update, heavy on mobile and without the control the team needed over menus, pages and news.
The idea
Build a portal of their own, fast and easy to operate, where whoever edits the content can publish alone, without depending on plugins or a programmer for every change.
What was built
- Institutional portal in plain PHP, with its own look and the organization's mascot.
- Custom admin panel: news, pages, menus, bulletins, photos and documents.
- Page editor opened to the team to create content inside the existing menus, without breaking the navigation.
- Contact and reporting forms protected with Google reCAPTCHA.
- Versions in other languages and speed optimization for mobile.
- Automatic daily database backup and monthly file backup.
Decisions made
- Leaving WordPress to gain speed, security and design freedom.
- Letting the editor be free only inside the existing menus, so the site never loses its organization.
- Privacy first: no collection of personal ID numbers where it is not necessary.
Result
Live since October 2026 at staecnon.org.br, replacing the previous WordPress site and already being updated by the organization's own team.
